Rebecca Enzor just announced her #PonyFest12 contest over at her blog, and I couldn't resist participating. To enter, you just have to design a My Little Pony based on a novel you've written. I had to go with something
Spookygirl-related, of course, so I created a design inspired by Violet:

The color scheme was easy enough -- any pony based on Violet would be overwhelmingly, well, violet. I gave her black hair with purple and green streaks -- I included the green to reflect the accents of green and purple in
Spookygirl's cover art. Violet's pony version has purple eyes and a wee pink bat near her hoof. I puzzled over her symbol for a while -- at first I considered doing something ghostly to reflect Violet's paranormal communication ability. However, I ended up creating a patchwork flower based on Violet's messenger bag, which she inherited from her mother. Violet wants to follow in her mom's paranormal-investigator footsteps, and I wanted the pony version to include that connection. I also made sure to include a tumbled black tourmaline necklace and some striped arm warmers (or leg warmers, as the case may be).
Tagline: The only ghost high school paranormal investigator Violet wants to find is the one that's eluded her forever -- her mother.
She's so great! A perfect representation of Violet (she needs a little goth companion though... ;P). LOVE her hair! I hope this pony is made just so I can see that hair!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Heh -- she needs a tiny squeaky hamburger for a pony version of Buster to toss around.
DeleteLOL, That would be so cute! We must find a tiny squeaky hamburger :P
